Over 100 million users, comprising at least 15 million youth, now use e-cigarettes, propelling a recent wave of nicotine dependency, as stated by recent global medical findings.

"Millions of citizens are ceasing, or avoiding tobacco use because of tobacco control efforts by states across the world," the representative commented.

"As a reaction to this substantial progress, the tobacco sector is fighting back with recent nicotine items, forcefully aiming at adolescents. Administrations must act faster and more forcefully in implementing tested tobacco-control regulations," the official added.

The e-cigarette numbers are an estimate since some nations - 109 in total, and several in African and Southeast Asia - fail to collect information.

Per the analysis, as of recent February this year, at bare minimum 86 million e-cigarette individuals were grown-ups, mostly in wealthy nations.

And at bare minimum 15 million teenagers between the ages of 13 and 15 already engage in vaping, per research from 123 countries.

Frequency of tobacco usage among females dropped the most - from 11% in 2010 to 6.6% in 2024.

Among males, the decrease was from 41.4% in 2010 to 32.5% in 2024.

But one in five of adults worldwide still uses tobacco.
