American-Palestinian Adolescent Released Following Nine Months in Israeli Custody

An Palestinian-American adolescent having endured 270 days in Israeli detention without being charged was released.
Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 during his detention in February throughout the West Bank territory, during a family visit on holiday from Florida for allegedly throwing stones toward Israeli settlers, allegations he repeatedly contested.
American diplomatic officials applauded the teenager's freedom.
Now sixteen years old, needed medical care for treatment immediately after release, according to close relatives.
Family described him as showing signs of malnutrition, and experiencing medical problems developed during imprisonment.
Through an official statement, family spokesperson conveyed their "immense relief".
Family member Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" throughout the past nine months.
"Right now, we're concentrating on ensuring Mohammed receives prompt healthcare he requires following exposure to Israel's abuse and brutal treatment for months."
The state department stated they would maintain to extend consular services to the teenager's relatives.

Several congressional representatives submitted a formal letter to diplomatic officials and the White House, urging greater action to release him.
Mohammed's parent, a father-of-four operating an ice cream shop based in Tampa, previously claimed his child admitted guilt regarding stone throwing due to physical abuse.
The father hadn't visited or communicated with his son since the arrest, and only heard about his son's condition via legal paperwork.
Mohammed was held absent formal charges at Ofer detention facility in the West Bank.
It is also home to grown detainees, some of whom have been convicted regarding severe security violations and murder.
An estimated 350 Palestinian child security detainees currently imprisoned in Israel, according to the Israeli Prison Service.
Several lack formal charges while advocacy organizations, and international organizations, say some have suffered mistreatment and torture.
Following Mohammed's release, family representatives announced relatives would persist in advocating seeking justice for their relative their cousin Sayfollah.
